Vice-president of the Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica, ASAJ, in charge of water polo, Lance Rochester, says the new rules approved by FINA are a ‘significant development for the sport’.

A total of 12 rule changes were given the go-ahead by the FINA Extraordinary Congress.

Rochester says the change was necessary for the oldest team sport in the Olympic programme.

He says the international governing body has been trying for many years to make the sport faster and more understandable.
