The Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch says the Police are questioning a suspect as they probe the case of missing Clarendon baby, Jahmeal Mendez.

The Police say they have reason to now probe the matter as a case of kidnapping.

It’s understood the man was detained during a Police operation in the crime plagued community of Effortville in the parish.

For Jahmeal’s mother, 26 year old Kera Williams, the news is little comfort.

She says she won’t feel at ease until her baby is returned home safely.

Two year old Jahmeal was reported missing over two weeks ago from his home in Sandy Bay in Clarendon.

His family has offered a one million dollar reward for information leading to his safe return home.

Ms Williams says she’s clinging to hope Jahmeal is still alive and safe.

And she’s again pleading with his captors to return him.
