Jamaica Teachers’ Association, JTA, President, Owen Speid, says the Health Ministry should disclose the names of the students that have contracted COVID-19 before school reopens.
Mr. Speid told Nationwide News that schools should know the health status of the students, to protect other children from contracting the virus.
He added that the JTA can assist students that are in self isolation to access essential facilities during their absence from school.
Mr. Speid pointed out that the JTA is concerned about the safety of the children.
Mr. Speid says this measure will prevent parents from taking their children to school while they are ill.
