Dr Christopher Tufton, has announced two additional COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

In response to questions about the passing of a 12-year-old due to COVID-19, Dr. Tufton said he had significant underlying issues.

The Minister is urging Jamaicans with comorbidities linked to non- communicable diseases to be particularly aware of their vulnerability to the coronavirus.

He also gave a breakdown of the COVID-19 related deaths so far.

Meanwhile, he says the latest batch of test results returned 74 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Jamaica.

The country now has 2,342 active cases.

He says 26 patients are moderately ill and 8 are critically ill. He notes that 3 persons are quarantined in a government facility and more than 26 thousand persons are in home quarantine.
