The Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, says the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is to assist in guiding its investigation into the circumstances that lead to the death of Jodian Fearon. 

The recent University of the West Indies graduate, died on Friday after reportedly being denied access to at least two hospitals.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fitz Bailey, says the probe will determine whether anyone is criminally negligent in failing to discharge their duties.

He says a team of Senior investigators has been assigned to the matter.  

The senior officer also says the incident is to be investigated expeditiously.

In the meantime, the post mortem to be done on the body of Ms Fearon, has been postponed until tomorrow. 
The post mortem was scheduled for today.

But the attorney representing Ms. Fearon’s family, Isat Buchanan says now that the Police are investigating, they will take the lead on the post mortem.

Ms Fearon’s family has hired an independent pathologist to observe the proceedings.
