That’s according to Assistant Director of the FAO, Dr. Julio Berdegue.

Dr. Berdegue was speaking yesterday at a FAO Press conference in Montego Bay, St. James. It’s the first item on the agenda of a four-day FAO Regional Conference being held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

The conference got underway yesterday. Dr. Berdegue says obesity will be given priority treatment by the FAO.

This is the first time in 20 years the regional conference is returning to the Caribbean.

Jamaica last hosted the conference 50 years ago.
