National discus representatives Fedrick Dacres and Travis Smikle are pleased with the progress they are making in training so far as they prepare for the Tokyo Olympics, starting on July 23.
Dacres won silver at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, and he’s the national record holder with a mark of 70.78-metres.
Meanwhile, Smikle bagged silver at 2018 Commonwealth and NACAC Games.
Both athletes are former Calabar standouts and both are coached by Julian Robinson.
Speaking on the Drive Phase, Smikle says a slight injury has not prevented him from putting in the work.
Dacres says he was able to return to full training in March after surgery on his wrist.
