Government Senator, Sherene Golding-Campbell, says public service reform will be key to Jamaica’s transformation.
She made the call for a more efficient and productive public sector as part of her State of the Nation Debate in the Senate on Friday.
Abigail Bartley tells us more.
Government Senator, Sherene Golding-Campbell, says following Hurricane Melissa the nation stands poised and impatient of much needed transformation.
She says the key to that vision of transformation are wide-ranging improvements to the public service.
As part of those improvements Senator Golding-Campbell called for a more agile decision-making process closer to the people through devolved authority.
Golding Campbell also says productivity similarly is important following the major expansion in public sector wages under the Holness Administration.
She similarly is calling for government procurement to be overhauled.
