A Westmoreland Guidance Counsellor was freed of rape charges when he appeared in the Westmoreland Circuit Court on Thursday.

Leslie Blake was charged with two counts of rape.

Attorney-at-law representing Blake, Donahue Martin Junior, confirmed Thursday afternoon that his client was freed on the basis of lack of evidence by the Crown.

Martin says the allegations have tainted the reputation of his client, however, he says Blake is happy for his freedom.

Blake was listed as wanted by the Westmoreland police, for two counts of rape of a minor committed in March and June last year, in Little London, in the parish.

He reportedly turned himself in to the police in September accompanied by his attorney.
