A minor is now in Police custody, following a shooting incident in which an 11-year old was injured.

The incident happened in Old Pen, Hanover last evening.

Crime Officer for the Hanover Police, Detective Inspector Carl Brown, says the child was treated at hospital and released.

The Hanover Police say the child says he found the weapon in a garbage bin.

They’re also reporting that the child threw the gun away after it shot the 11-year-old.

The Police say they found the weapon with three rounds of ammunition this morning in bushes in the area.
