Minister without Portfolio in the Education Ministry, Karl Samuda says they’re considering engaging private schools to also accommodate students once schools reopen under COVID-19 social distancing protocols in September.
He was speaking in the House of Representatives yesterday.
The government will be asking private schools that have been taking a battering from the COVID-19 pandemic to assist with social distancing for exam preparations.
However the Minister indicated yesterday afternoon that the government’s engagement with these institutions may continue into the new school year.
He also says in preparation for the reopening of schools under social distancing protocols, additional teachers will be employed.
Meanwhile, the Minister says orientation for Primary Exit Profile, PEP, students will take place in the last two weeks of August.

Grade six students are expected to receive their PEP results on June 26.
Parents will be able to access the results for the first time via their cellular phones.
