Jamaica has now recorded its highest Covid-19 positivity rate since the onset of theCovid-19 pandemic in March 2020.

In the Health and Wellness Ministry’s latest update, the positivity rate stands at 68.6 per cent. The highest rate was 60 per cent recorded on January 10 this year.

The latest positivity rate follows the testing of 2,915 samples. The number of positiveCovid-19 cases recorded within the last 24 hours is 1,262. The total number of cases now stands at 108,983.

Meanwhile, threeCovid-19 fatalities were recorded. The deceased are from St. Catherine and St. Elizabeth. They bring the total number of recorded deaths to 2,517.

Meanwhile, there were 96 new recoveries recorded in the update. This brings the total number of recoveries to 66,946. The number of people hospitalised have increased to 392. Eighty-five people are moderately ill, 37 are severely ill, and 9 are critical.
