A Director of the Major Organized Crime and Anti Corruption Agency, MOCA, Deputy Superintendent, Jason Anderson was today freed of gun charges in the Spanish Town Criminal Court.
DSP Anderson was charged by the Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM with assault at common law and discharging a firearm within 40 yards of a public place.
The charges were laid after he fired his weapon in the air while confronting three allegedly suspicious looking men in Caribbean Estates, St Catherine two years ago
His attorney Peter Champagnie wrote to the Director of Public Prosecutions, Paula Llewelyn, following the decision by INDECOM to charge the Policeman.
DSP Anderson was freed after DPP Llewelyn attended court today and registered her disapproval of the case brought by INDECOM.
Mr. Champagnie says his client did nothing wrong.
