Regulations to have the National Identification System, NIDS, operationalized are expected to be tabled in Parliament in the next 4 weeks.

Minister Without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister, Floyd Green, made the disclosure while speaking on Nationwide This Morning.

The enrolment process of the NIDS programme is expected to begin in August this year within the Corporate Area.

Enrolment across the island is set to begin next year.

Minister Green says the regulations of the project will be made public for feedback before it’s tabled.

Minister Green says a review of the structure of the National Identification Registration Authority, NIRA, will take place before Cabinet next week.

NIRA will be responsible for administering the NIDS programme.
