The former coordinator of the National Secondary Schools Debating competition, Norma Rochester, died this morning.

She was battling cancer.

Along with her tenure as the Debates Coordinator, she was also a Teacher at Wolmers High School for Boys, and a Lecturer at the University of Technology.

Vice President of the Jamaican Association for Debating and Empowerment, Ricardo Brooks, described Mrs. Rochester as an outstanding influence in young people’s lives.
