Residents of Norwood are welcoming the declaration of a ZOSO in their area.

A woman who did not wish to be identified told Nationwide News that she’s happy for the enhanced security measure.

The Norwood resident says she has lost her mother and other family members to gun violence and is now in fear for the lives of her sons.

Former People’s National Party Councillor for the Norwood division, Anthony Henry also says the ZOSO is welcomed in the area.

He says the community is plagued by what he referred to as a misunderstanding between various factions in the community.

The Norwood ZOSO is the second to be declared in St James. Mount Salem was the first, declared in 2017.
