Another Nurse has died from COVID-19 complications.
She’s Deidre Cunningham.
Nurse Cunningham died last night at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James.
Ms. Cunningham was a Registered Nurse at the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital.
President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, Patsy Edwards Henry confirmed her passing while speaking with Nationwide News.
The NAJ President is currently visiting the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital following the news of Nurse Cunningham’s passing.
An emotional Edwards Henry says she had made her way this morning to the western-based hospital to be with Nurse Cunningham’s colleagues and offer comfort.
Nurse Cunningham’s passing comes only weeks after another colleague Annette White-Best lost her battle with the virus.
At the time, Nurse Annette White-Best was reportedly the fourth member of the profession to have died from COVID-19 complications.
However, Mrs. Edwards Henry says it may be more.
