Corporate Communications Manager at the National Water Commission, NWC, Andrew Canon says, the recent fish kill in the Rio Cobre in St. Catherine, has hampered the operations of the Spanish Town Treatment Plant.
This has resulted in the disruption of regular water supply to several communities.
Cannon explains that the Rio Cobre is the source for raw water flowing to the treatment plant.
According to Canon, the NWC has to be taking water from its Eastern Headworks facility.
He says by so doing, several other communities served by the Eastern Headworks are being impacted.
