Head of the Organisation of American States, OAS, team that observed the recently held general elections in Guyana, Bruce Golding, is denouncing electoral fraud.

Mr Golding is also a former Prime Minister of Jamaica.

He says in the recount of the ballots, the results from four boxes were changed to favour the governing A Partnership for National Unity, APNU party.

He outlined examples of the alleged breaches.

The elections were held on March 2.

The OAS observer group listed severe ethnicity-driven polarization, length of time it took to tabulate results, and the names of dead people on voter’s list, as major concerns.

The OAS Mission says it will submit its final report upon completion of its the process and the determination of the final results of the elections.
