Jamaica has recorded 115 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours. That’s according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ latest update.
In the update, a positivity rate of 20.4 per cent was reported.
Over 142,000 cases have been recorded since the onset of the pandemic in the country. The newest cases come from 581 samples tested. Forty-eight of the new cases are from Kingston and St. Andrew.
One new Covid-19 fatality was recorded. The deceased is a 69-year-old male from Clarendon. More than 3,000 people in Jamaica have died of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
There were 92 recoveries reported in the update.
Ninety-seven people are hospitalised with Covid. Twenty-nine are moderately ill, nine are severely ill and three are critical. Eighty-three per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
