Prime Minister Andrew Holness has pledged his administration’s support for initiatives aimed at reducing the country’s vulnerability to the effects of climate change.

Mr.Holness made the pledge while addressing the signing of the new Social Partnership Agreement.

The agreement will be in place until 2026.

The Prime Minister says the government has mainstreamed climate resilience in the construction of public infrastructure.

Holness says in order to realise the country’s national development goals, long term environmental sustainability must be an important element of national planning.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister says some aspects of national life must be beyond the reach of partisan politics. 

He says his government is committed to long term goals.
