PNP Chairman, Robert Pickersgill, is downplaying the potential impact that the campaign funds scandal bedeviling the party will have on its ability to raise funds.

The Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, PSOJ, has threatened to withdraw funding to both major political parties until campaign financing legislation and regulations are in place.

Mr. Pickersgill says the concerns of the private sector have been noted.

He says the PNP welcomes the external probe now underway.

Mr. Pickersgill also denied that he’s among senior members of the party accused of collecting money from donors but did not turn over the full amount to the central treasury.

He also rejected allegations of kickbacks from large Chinese projects.
