People’s National Party, PNP, President, Dr Peter Phillips, says his party would still prevail at the polls if both the General and Local Government elections are held on the same day.

He’s urging readiness among the local government aspirants in the PNP in what pundits say is shaping up to be a General Election year.

Dr. Phillips was speaking yesterday with PNP Councillors and Councillor Caretakers from Regions 2 and 3 on the campus of the Mico University College in St Andrew.

More in this report from Neika Lewis.

Unity is strength, but Dr Phillips knows it will take more than a united PNP to secure victory in the upcoming elections.

And, Dr Phillips says the PNP is willing to consider having both the General and Local Government elections on the same day if all the legal requirements are met.

The PNP President says while the Opposition doesn’t get to choose the Election Day, the party will be in preparation mode.
He says the party’s slate of candidates for  the General Election is among the best line up the PNP has ever had.
