Principal of the Pembrook Hall High School in St Andrew, Reverend Claude Ellis is raising concerns over several students he says missed an entire year of grade seven, due to their parents failure to register them at the school.

He was reacting to concerns raised by the Jamaica Teachers Association that fewer students are participating in online classes.

Reverend Ellis says some 50 per cent of his student population are being engaged online.

He says many of his exit exam students have abandoned classes to pursue job opportunities.

Reverend Ellis says his grade seven classes are below fifty percent in online attendance.
