President of the Medical Association of Jamaica, Dr Brian James, says stakeholders in the public health sector are relieved at news National Water Commission workers have returned to work.

He says preparations were being made to respond to a potential crisis, amid the uncertainty about when there would be an end to disruptions in water supplies.

He notes hospitals are heavily dependent on water.

In the meantime, President of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association, JMEA, John Mahfood, says it’s the government that allowed the negotiations with the unions to break down therefore resulting in the unrest.
