RADA Chairman and Agriculture Specialist, Nigel Myrie, is rejecting as absurd, ridiculous and false, allegations made by Dr. Phillips and the PNP today.

The RADA Chairman says the claim by Dr. Phillips that 1-point-6- billion dollars was corruptly spent by the entity in St. Thomas under its farm road rehabilitation project during the 2017/2018 fiscal year is untrue.

Mr. Myrie says that amount is close to the total spend by RADA under the programme for the entire country.

Mr. Myrie says contrary to what the PNP officials alleged today, only $31-million was spent by RADA in St. Thomas during the 2017/2018 fiscal year.

Dr. Phillips told a media conference this afternoon that RADA had breached its remit by spending funds on bushing only.

But, the RADA Chairman says that claim by the Opposition Leader and PNP President is also false.

Meanwhile, Mr. Myrie says RADA has been taking steps to address issues raised in a recent Auditor General’s report.
