Dancehall Artiste, Rygin King was among three people shot, one fatally, yesterday, after leaving a funeral in Westmoreland.

The entertainer’s given name is Matthew Smith.

Reports are that one of the vehicles they were traveling in was involved in an accident.

It’s understood that while attending to the vehicle, a silver Toyota Axio car drove up.

One man reportedly got out of the car and opened fire at Rygin King.

Rygin King and two others, a male and a female, were reportedly shot and injured.

The female, who’s 28 years old was pronounced dead at hospital.

Up to late last evening, the identity of the deceased was not made public.

The others are being treated at hospital.

The nature of their injuries is not immediately clear.

Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay is in charge of the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, CCU.

She says the entertainer has since had surgery.
