A director of Independence Park Limited, Ed Barnes, says the Minister of Sports Olivia Grange has plans to reach out to former national 400-metres runner Dr. Gregory Haughton to lend his support to the further development of Jamaica’s track and field.

Dr. Haughton, who represented Jamaica at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics Games, has been on a campaign to encourage the governing body in charge of track and field in Jamaica to pay more attention to the junior athletes.

Dr. Haughton believes investing in a grassroots program to enhance the young athletes mind will be the key to long term success in life and sports.

Barnes says Grange is extremely interested in working with the Olympian.
