The Police have charged a US national who was caught at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James with an illegal gun.

The woman is 37-year-old Natasha Girvens of Tampa, Florida.

Detectives assigned to the St. James Police Division charged Girvens with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Illegal Possession of Ammunition following an incident at the airport yesterday.

The Police say the firearm and several rounds of ammunition were seized.

Reports are, about 11:30 in the morning, during a security check, Girvens’ luggage was checked and a Glock pistol, two magazines and thirty-one  9-milli-metre cartridges were found. 

She was arrested and subsequently charged.
