West Portland MP, Daryl Vaz, is challenging a statement from the secretariat of the JLP that a meeting last night of opposition parliamentarians and party executives re-affirmed support for Andrew Holness’s continuing leadership.
In a statement today the JLP secretariat says the meeting re-affirmed support for the continuing leadership of Andrew Holness.
The meeting was held following a call by Opposition Spokesman on Justice, Delroy Chuck, for Opposition MPs to consider the future of Mr. Holness as Opposition Leader.
Mr. Vaz says the discussion at the JLP’s Belmont Road Headquarters last night was a waste of time because the attorney who addressed the meeting, Harold Brady, is not qualified to speak on constitutional matters.
Efforts by our news centre to contact Mr. Brady for comment were unsuccessful.
